A Box for my Heart

The challenge this time at Crafting with Dragonflies is to "Make a Box".  As a member of  Design Team at Sassy Studio Designs, I played along.  Usually when I make a project, it is for a specific purpose.  This time my project turned out to be more of a "artsy" piece.

Stuff I Used:
Image-Tin Sassy by Sassy Studio Designs
Colored with Copics
Skin-E00, E11
Body-C1, C3, C5, B91
Ax-C1, C3, C5, E11, E13, E15
Hair-B91, B63, C3
Box-Darice Paper Mache Box Set (3 pieces) 4"x6"
Covered with Metal tape
Lined with Darice Feltties stiffened red felt
Heart w/ clock-Scan of Paper House Productions Cardstock stickers "Wizard of Oz"
covered with Glossy Accents
Rhinestones-Darice Birthstone Boutique July/Ruby
Ribbon-Plain N Fancy Red Rip Rap glitter ribbon

I added chip board to the corners and top and then covered the entire box with metal tape. It that is used on counter tops under cook tops to reflect the heat away from the counter.  Here's a pic of the roll.

I added the faux rivets with the tube from a pen with the point retracted.
I scanned the heart/clock sticker. Printed it out larger and covered it with Glossy Accents and cut it out.
I lined the box with red felt pieces.
I popped up the Tin Sassy image on homemade pink foam squares.

This was a fun project. It was the 2nd project that I made this month that wasn't a card. I think I may have to make more non-card projects.

Thanx for looking and please follow and comment.

Wow Greg - just WOW! I really like the fact that you used that silver metal tape to create the box- now I will be going to the hardware store to look for something similar! Probably go to a plumbing place I think! And that young woman - she looks really dangerous and sooooo cute! Beautifully coloured up. Your watch is terrific too. Clever use of scanning and crafting. Thanks for being among the first cabs off the rank for our newest challenge at Crafting with Dragonflies! Susan (DT member)

I am loving the metal tape too! I have used it before to make a pirate's treasure box and it is perfect for your Tin Sassy box. Great details too, especially the rivets. The felt lining is amazing. Thank-you for sharing with us at Crafting With Dragonflies!

Great project, that metal tape is so versatile. I use it through my Big Shot, and colour it with alcohol inks as well! I love your Tin Man Sassy, she is really cool, and the red accents are fabulous. Thanks so much for supporting us at Crafting with Dragonflies, Judith xx
