SentiMints Release

Ermagurd! I can't believe it. A special Release/Hop for my "SentiMints".

A while back, Lindsay asked me if I'd be interested in having some of my sentiments available in the SSD store. After some thought, I said sure.

You should have arrived here from the Sassy Studio Designs blog.  If not, click here and start at the beginning.
Follow along and see the projects the  DT has created with the "SentiMints".  If you stop at all the DT's blogs, you could be handsomely rewarded. (a Freebie is being given away somewhere along the way.  Shhhhhh!) And we are having a challenge to go along with the Release.
Here is what I created.

I popped up the image panel on homemade green foam squares.  I added a smaller image and more DP on the inside.
I used a Splitcoast Stampers Wednesday sketch (#459) for my layout.

Hope my project has inspired you.  Next stop on the Hop is the fabulous Debbie's blog.  Don't forget you have to go to each of the DT's blogs to find the giveaway. (I don't even know where it is!)

Just a heads up, there will be a New Image Release/Hop coming later this month.  I know you'll want to join us for that Release/Hop also.  But first you need to join in this Release/Hop/Challenge.

Don't forget that somewhere along the Hop you will find a link to a freebie.  It could be anywhere, so don't skip any blogs.
Once you find it, create a project using it and link your post to the Sassy Studio Designs blog.
The freebie will only be available for 48 hours, after that, you can buy it in the store.
The project chosen will win their choice of 3 of the Sentimints.
Also, three people from the comments will be randomly chosen to win 1 of the Sentimints of their choice.
And we will be chatting on the Party Blog tonight from 5pm to 7pm PST

Leave a comment and get on over to Debbie's Blog.

Thanx for looking and please comment.

Shamrock Fold Out

Happy St Patrick's Day to everyone.  This week's pic at {Pin}spirational Challenges (#48) had a St Pat's feel to it. http://pinspirationalchallenges.blogspot.com/   Here's the pic and what I was inspired to make.

Partially open

Stuff I Used:
(it's a short list)
Base-White 12" x 12" cardstock
cut to 5 1/2" x 12"
scored at 2", 4", 8" and 10"
DP-Recollections Green Argyle
Faux stitching-Le Pen Olive Green
Sentiment-Computer generated

I got the idea for the folding of the card from a great book:

Folding Ideas for Cards & Envelopes
Laurence K Withers
Peplin Press
Agile Rabbit Editions

The theme is 3 shamrocks and 3 shades of green both in the inspiration pic and the card.  It just so happened that my photo stand background matched the background in the pic.

I enjoy the challenges at {Pin}spirational Challenges. Every week it's something that can be interpreted so many different ways just from a pic. Keep up the good work Deanne.

Cash tips are appreciated, but comments work too.

Irish Dancer

I got to play along again at "Imagine That!".  It's a progressive challenge.  Meaning, if you play along, follow the rules and submit your project before the deadline.  You are e-mailed the next image(s) for free.  This was the 2nd challenge at "Imagine That!" digis by Kris.  Check it out here.  This time it was an Irish Dancer theme.  I chose the "Kathleen" and "sentiment" for my card. I didn't go the traditional St Patrick's colors.

Stuff I Used:
Image-Kathleen Irish Dancer by Imagine That! digis by Kris
Colored with Copics
Skin-E00, E11
Hair-YR02, R24, E08
Dress-YG03, YG06, YG63, B21, B24
Socks-B91, C1
Gold knots on Dress-American Crafts gold gel pen
Sentiment-Imagine That! digis by Kris
DP-Core Couture Blue Diamonds, We R Memory Keepers White Out Collection Explore-Roam
Swirls-Le Pen Brown

I drew some brown (it looks black in the photo) swirls behind the image to mimic the swirls on the DP. The light blue panel behind the image is very sparkly, but doesn't show up much in the photo.

I enjoy the challenges at "Imagine That!". And the images are great to color.  Check it out and join in.

I think I heard Kathleen say that if you commented, she would come to your house and dance for you.

Patty 'O Monkey

Played along again this week at the Hambo Hoedown.  This week's challenge was to add rainbow colors along with a Hambo image.  I used the "Monkey Irish" image I got free for playing along last week.

Star of St Pat's

This week's challenge at Sassy Studio Designs "Dare to be Sassy Thursday #166" was "Stars in your Eyes". Use stars on your project.  So here's what I created.

open partially

Stuff I Used:
Image-Lager Pin-up by Sassy Studio Designs
Colored with Copics
Skin-E000, E00, E11
Eyes-YG03, YG05
Lips-R20, R22
Clothes-YG61, TG63, YR02, YR04, YR07
Hair-YR02, R24, E08
Beer/Glass-Y21, Y23, Y26, B41, B91
Bubbles/Eye highlight- Gelly Roll White gel pen
DP-DCWV Basics Stack
Star Buttons-Favorite Findings @ JoAnn's
Colored with Copics
Floss-DMC #608, #699, White
Sentiment-Computer generated
Type style-Frank Llyod Wright's "Terra Cotta"

I cut 1" off the right side of the card front to allow the inside edge and sentiment to show.  I popped up the image on homemade green foam squares.  And attached the buttons with homemade glue dots.
I used star DP as well as the 3 stars. Who says you have to use shamrocks on St Pat's cards?  I know I made the beer too light for a Guinness and the wrong type of glass.  (Even though I don't drink)  But, it's called "artistic licence" right?
Thanx for looking.  Comment and "Sea Bass" said he'd buy your next round!
